ANIMALS AND TRADITIONS OF AUSTRALIA
· ANIMALS :
Australia has more than 378 species of mammals, 828 species of birds, 4000 species of fish, 300 species of lizards, 140 species of snakes, two species of crocodiles and approximately 50 types of marine mammals.
- Mammals: In Australia there are no large predatory animals, the dingo or wild dog, it is our largest carnivorous mammal.

- Marsupials: In Australia, more than 140 species of marsupials live, including kangaroos, wallaby, koalas and wombats. We have 55 different native species of kangaroos and wallaby. The main difference between them is the size, wallaby tend to be much smaller. The estimate of Australia's kangaroo population varies between 30 and 60 million.

- Monotrems : Another group of animals found only in Australia is that of monotrems or mammals that lay eggs. The most prominent is the platypus, a river animal that has a duck's beak, its body covered with waterproof hair and otter legs.

- Birds : They cover from small meliphage birds to the great non-flying emu, which has a height of almost two meters.

- Reptiles : Australia has more species of poisonous snakes than any other continent; in fact, blackjack is one of the twenty-five deadliest here. But not all are poisonous; We also have some amazing python and tree snakes.

-Marine animals : It has the largest coral reef system in the world, the Great Barrier Reef, selected World Heritage. In it there are so many species of colorful fish, including the beautiful clownfish.

· TRADITIONS :
- Barbecues The center of the party : For Australians, barbecues are synonymous with a perfect plan, they are made for their celebrations, for the typical festivities of the country or simply because they feel like spending a pleasant afternoon with friends and family.

- Dinner : Dinner in Australia is possibly the most important meal of the day. It is usually done around 7 pm and is more abundant than lunchtime food.

- Celebrations : Among the most prominent dates in Australia are Christmas, New Year and Halloween, practically as in any other western country. Being in the southern hemisphere, Christmas is identified with the beginning of summer vacations and is therefore a date that is celebrated with great expectation. Another important date is January 26, Australia Day, a day celebrated with picnics, parades and live music.
HISTORY :

The history of Australia began when man arrived on the Australian continent 65,000 years ago. Its historical records begin after the explorers spotted it in the 17th century. The Spanish arrived two centuries earlier and discovered the Torres Strait. These records show that the southern land was uninhabitable and therefore did not colonize it ..., thus leaving the way open for subsequent British expeditions. The interpretation of Australian history is a controversial issue today, particularly as regards the discovery and treatment of Australian aborigines by European colonizers.
TRIBES :
The Australian aborigines are, the descendants of the first inhabitants of the Australian country and have continued to live there throughout the European colonization. According to Australian legislation, both peoples constitute the whole of the indigenous Australians. The traditional territory of the Australian aborigines extends throughout Australia, Tasmania and some nearby islands.
