THE
GEOGRAPHY OF IRELAND :
Republic of Ireland it’s a state of Western Europe, which
occupies five-sixths of the island of Ireland in the North Atlantic, west of
the island of Great Britain. It borders the United Kingdom to the north, the
Irish Sea to the east and the North Atlantic to the west. The ocean is
responsible for the cropped western coastline, along with the many islands,
peninsulas and bays. The capital of Ireland is Dublin, the official languages
Gaelic (Irish) and English, the currency the euro, since January 1, 1999, was
previously the Irish pound, the form of government a representative republic
and is in the UTC time zone. Ireland belonged to the United Kingdom until
December 6, 1922, the day it achieved independence. It is thus transformed into
a parliamentary republic. The head of state is the president, who is elected in
elections.
